A super cool piece of Al Hirschfeld inspired animation.

We (BF and I) love New York and I love animation. I also love Gershwin so when the three combine it can be heaven..

The animation style was inspired by the sketches of Al Hirschfeld, a St Louis born caricaturist who drew the great and the good of New York’s Broadway (as well as others)

Here are a few images of his style –

A young Frank Sinatra

Bob Hope

The Marx Brothers

Carol Channing ‘Raspberries’

Woody Allen, the quintessential New Yorker!

Al Hirschfeld only died in 2003 and so I presume that he saw ‘Fantasia 2000’. I hope he was delighted!
